About me

Why Collaboration is so important for enterprises and individuals

I’m a technical consultant and solutions architect at Cisco focused on collaboration technologies. I work with customers in identifying their communication needs to then design the best possible solution for them with the tools and products on the market. During that process I not only build the system architecture, but also work deeply in all aspects that surround it: business problems to solve, user adoption, implementation plan, etc.

As an expert in collaboration, I also participate in events, customer talk forums and sessions on technological vision in which I discuss the current situation, the latest market trends and try to advise about the future evolution of this technology.

An essential part of my role consists of understanding the current situation in which companies are immersed in when talking about collaborative solutions. After that, I identify those trends that are (or will be) shaping the landscape and try to apply them to my customer. In order to do that, I actively participate in several LinkedIN groups, follow several blogs from collaboration professionals (see the blogroll section) and heavily use social networks like Twitter and Google+. The result of all those interactions is what I post here on this blog. It serves me to share thoughts and ideas with my colleagues as well as a think-tank exercise (see my post about this). Social networks are also a professional focus point for me because of their impact in the communication process they have. However, not everything in a communication process is technology related and as such, I also research on topics such as the human processes behind listening, understanding, communicating and working together. Knowing how we function as persons in those aspects, together with the ability to absorb technological changes is vital for achieving success in implementing a collaborative solution.

I’m passionate about meeting people and customers and working with them, facing new challenges to then seek the best way to address them. I’m very curious, have a great interest in learning from everything and never give up when faced with a problem. This makes me try to be better everyday, always with a positive attitude and a touch of humor so it’s bearable :-) .

During my career, I’ve had different roles in consulting, professional services, management and sales. I have more than ten years experience in voice over ip, unified communications and collaboration. My full professional resume can be found at LinkedIN.
